Volcano Projects
Volcano Projects
Students will be sharing their slide show about their volcano on December 12, 13, and 14. The volcano eruptions will all be done on Friday, December 15th at 2:05. You are invited to come to one or both, the day your child presents and the day the volcanoes are erupted.
At this point the presentations are close to being finished. The students are proud of their progress using google slides. The volcanoes should be made at home. I provided a set of directions, however, you can use any method to make the volcano. I will provide the baking soda and vinegar, but some students have asked if they can use their own, that is fine. Some students like to put food coloring in their vinegar or a little bit of dish soap to make it foam better.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance during this project.

Crayon Resist and Poetry
Students created a watercolor and crayon resist leaf and then wrote a poem from the perspective of their leaf. Students worked diligently to write, type, peer share, and edit their poems. The final step was choosing a background and mounting their artwork and poem.

Welcome to 4th Grade!
I am excited to meet each of you and begin 4th grade next week. It will be exciting to get to know you the first few days of class and to hear about your summertime adventures. I hope you enjoy your weekend and are well rested for Monday morning. We will have time to get to know one another, get to know our classroom, and to develop class rules as a group. I look forward to meeting each of you!
Warmly,
Ms. Shaheen

1/6/17
On Friday, we met with our Third Grade Reading Buddies from Mrs. Murdy's class. The students introduced themselves and worked on an ice-breaker activity with their new buddy. The fifth grade students then read stories to them sharing reading strategies along the way. Our first meeting was a success!
